Questions & Answers
Can Sergeant & Sons Septic and Excavating give me a guaranteed bid or estimate over the phone?
No. Unfortunately we are not able to do that. Each job is "unique". There are different variables that can come into play when planning a septic and or excavating project. We will come out to your home or site and perform a "at no cost" evaluation. We will then formulate a guaranteed bid and submit that to you for review.
What is a guaranteed bid and why do I need one?
At sergeant & Sons Septic and Excavating we believe it is very important to be upfront and honest with our customers. We do not want there to be any surprises once the job is complete. This is why we provide a guaranteed bid. This guarantee means that everything stated on the bid will be done, done right and that you will know how much it will cost to you without any hidden or added fees. That is why we sign this bid and we ask that you sign it as well.
What counties does Sergeant & Sons Septic and Excavating do work in?
We are licensed to install and perform work in the entire state of Ohio. Currently we are registered in 5 counties. Typically it is an application and a fee to become registered in most of the surrounding counties so we will go where our customers need us. Of course there are different requirements in every state and we also work outside of Ohio on a case by case basis.
How long does it take to get my septic installed?
We do our best at Sergeant & Sons Septic and Excavating to ensure that each septic is completed in a timely fashion. From the time that we receive the call for an estimate to the completion of the system we are there through the entire process. Depending on what county you live in there are different permits and regulations that are in place. These permits, rules and regulations are what drive the time line for each install and job. We work closely with each county office to assure that your job is completed accurately, timely & professionally. Assisting you along the way with any questions that you may have.
What is Norweco?
This is a great question. Norweco manufactures one of the septic systems that Sergeant & Sons Septic and Excavating uses. Although it is not the only system that we use, we are an authorized dealer for Norweco. To find out more about Norweco and their products please see their website: www.norweco.com
My septic was installed but there is a pile of dirt in my yard and it has not been covered up, how long will it be like this?
We know that this can be frustrating. We sympathize with you for this inconvience. Unfortunately, this is all dependent on the weather. When a septic system is installed, due to the type of soil that we have here in Northeast OH, we must allow for the system to "settle". We cannot cover the freshly dug hole until it has settled and dried out a bit. We do promise that we will not forget about you, once the weather allows, we will be over to finish the job.
I recently had my septic installed and there is a light on the electrical panel, what do I do? Who do I call?
In most cases this can be solved by going through a few troubleshooting steps.
